Request Data Deletion

PIPEDA-compliant data deletion for the BLUEcollar mobile app and platform.

How to request deletion

  1. Fill in the email address associated with your BLUEcollar account.
  2. Choose the level of erasure (full account closure, or data wipe only).
  3. Click Submit Request.
  4. Check your inbox for the confirmation email (it may take a few minutes).
  5. Click the confirmation link in the email to verify your identity. Your request will then be processed within 30 days.

What gets deleted immediately

Erased on fulfillment:

  • Your user profile (name, email, phone, trade/union affiliation)
  • All certification cards and their images (front/back)
  • Profile photo
  • All dispatch history (offers, assignments, solicitations, worker notes)
  • All membership records and dues history
  • All notification preferences and FCM push tokens
  • All user settings, contexts, and consents
  • Capture and report images uploaded by you
  • Encryption keys (KMS-wrapped DEK is cryptographically erased any remaining encrypted backups become permanently unreadable)

What is retained, why, and for how long

Anonymized audit logs retained for 7 years

Your audit-log history is anonymized (your user ID is replaced with a one-way HMAC pseudonym; all personal metadata is stripped). The anonymized records are retained for 7 years for legal-defensibility, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance evidence, then permanently purged by an automated cleanup job. No identifying information about you remains in these records.

Aggregated analytics retained indefinitely

If you ever opted into analytics, your aggregated, non-identifying contribution to feature-usage statistics is pseudonymized (HMAC-derived ID) and retained for product-improvement research. No individual identification is possible from this data.

This retention is permitted under PIPEDA Principle 4.5 (Limiting Retention) when there is a legitimate legal or operational basis. See our Privacy Policy Data Storage.

Response timeframe

We respond to all data-deletion requests within 30 days, as required by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You will receive a final confirmation email when your deletion is complete, with details of exactly what was erased.

If we cannot respond within 30 days, we will notify you with an explanation and a new estimated completion date, as permitted by PIPEDA. You may file a complaint at any time with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca.

The email address associated with your BLUEcollar account.
"Keep my account" preserves your sign-in shell so you can return without re-creating an account, but all your data is erased.
Limited to 500 characters. Will be shared with our compliance team only.

Want to export your data instead?

Before deleting, you may want to export your data. Open the BLUEcollar app and go to Settings Privacy & Data Export My Data. Your full data is delivered as a JSON file (PIPEDA right of access).
